Until Then
(2003)
There was a time when I was happy, never forgotten memories of yesterday
Christmas decorations, Easter egg hunts streamers blowing in the sky of purest blue
I cry in my pillow dreaming of yester-year, the portrait of perfection embedded in you
Staring at the ceiling, bouncing off the walls so in love with what I know to be true
I wish I could take your hand fly by the winding road, taking in the beauty that is life
Glide forever through the sky atop the trees through the clouds, taking in the beauty that is you
My love for you can never be undone, un-breaking even as the last sun fades beneath
A mother smiled, words I desire to parlay.. deep blue eyes pools of innocence lifting spirit high
Love for you unconditional, sadness had no place to gain its hold on the splendor of light that day
Now an inch away from holding you in my arms, a world away from looking in your eyes
All the walls built around me, just that easy as demons and devils appear ready to deny
Alone without your smile, without your touch, in search of my very being
Is it fair to hope.. that all I ever wanted to know, to teach, just to be?
Clawing regret felt inside, the torture to feel overwhelming defeat
Emptiness follows me through dark empty cellars of night and day
So many years have I lost.. I think of a better future.. And so I wait...
